Boiled or White Rice- 2 1/2 cups
Boiled rice should be soaked for at least 6 hrs or more. If White rice, then 4 hrs of soaking should be sufficient.
1 big Coconut Grated
Cardamom crushed- 3 to 4 pods
Jaggery crushed- As per your taste
Salt to taste
Turmeric Leaf- 1 Dozen
Method
Grind the rice with little water & a bit of salt
(the batter should be very thick & dry to enable you to spread it on the turmeric leaf).
Ensure that the turmeric leaves are washed well and dried with a cloth.
Now spread the batter on the leaf.
Mix together the freshly grated coconut, grated jaggery and cardamom powder and spread on top of the batter in the centre and seal off the leaf on both side as seen.
Steam for about 1/2 hr.
